30 in 30: No. 29 - Dark Chocolate

About ten years ago, I fell in love with dark chocolate. It seems like a lot of people think that Dark chocolate is not as good as milk chocolate. After a couple of years trying to defend the dark goodness, I came up with a theory. Eating dark chocolate takes discipline. It is about the process and not the end result. If you pop a piece of milk chocolate in your mouth and just chew it up, it is as good as it is going to get. If you do the same thing with dark chocolate... it won't taste very food. In order to get the full effect out of Dark Chocolate, you have to SAVOR IT! You have to put it in your mouth and let it dissolve on it's own time. If you do that, the richness and decadence will by far outweigh the temporary pleasure of milk chocolate.

This is a philosophy that I can relate to my life. You have to live every moment to it't fullest and sometimes it takes a lot of time to get the full effect of the goodness. But if you take the time... it will be more rewarding than the immediate temporary satisfaction of living by impulse.

I agree-milk chocolate is sometimes too sweet and at least when you are eating dark you are being healthy-right? :o)
